The Therapies we use
We believe that the treatment methods offered at the Elite Clinic are possibly unique. We are not claiming to have discovered or pioneered an incredible new therapy, but simply that after reviewing the mainstream therapies in use, we decided to select the best elements of each and produce our own technique, which we have named "Life Architecture".
People who come along to the clinic to seek help regarding problems in their relationship will require basic counselling, advice and guidance. For the many others who visit the clinic to stop smoking or lose weight, for instance, the treatment would vary. We have included a brief insight into the main components of Life Architecture below.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (CBT) is probably the therapy method that most people are aware of.
Its use has become the treatment of choice by many within the medical profession; in fact now virtually every NHS hospital in the UK has their own in-house facility, as do some GP practices. It has been used successfully to treat everything from Panic Attacks to Fear of Flying, from Depression to Phobias, and is particularly recommended for helping people overcome addictions.
BUPA Wellness have recently introduced a corporate scheme to help people stop smoking, which uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques.

As you would expect, CBT combines cognitive and behavioural techniques. The therapist often takes on the role of a trainer, teaching clients techniques and strategies, which they can then use to overcome their problems. Whilst it may sound simple in its use, CBT can produce rapid results over a very wide spectrum of complaints. As a therapy it is both educative and problem orientated, and the sessions very structured.

Hypnotherapy is widely used in a variety of different fields including medicine and childbirth, dentistry, education, law enforcement and professional sports, and the beneficial use of hypnosis in the treatment of both nicotine addiction and obesity is well documented. A survey in 2004 in The Times Newspaper quoted hypnotherapy as being one of the most successful methods available in the treatment of smoking addiction.

Most people are aware that our minds in fact work on two completely different levels - the conscious and the unconscious. We make everyday decisions and think and act via our conscious mind, but our habits are actually controlled by our unconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy involves addressing the unconscious mind while a person is in a relaxed state, and this is why it can be so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime in just a few short sessions.
The Elite Clinic is a member of the Ethical and Professional Association of Hypnotherapists, and adheres to the strict code of auspices of the British Institute of Hypnotherapy and the Robert Shields College. All practitioners at Elite are covered by statutory Public Liability Insurance.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). People who come to us in therapy typically have pain in their lives, and all therapy methods are confronted with the problem of reacting adequately to their needs. NLP offers a sometimes-exciting method of helping people to undertake often-dramatic change in their lives, and change is often all the client needs. That is to be able to change from a sad outlook on life to a happy one, from a vision of doom and gloom to a future of excitement and discovery. NLP has such wide interpretations with little restrictive format that it is often of value to a very wide variety of clients.
The building of a strong and open relationship between the therapist and the client is crucial in NLP, as in most other therapies. The client needs to be treated with respect, with the therapist coming from a position of curiosity and open-mindedness. The therapist’s role is to guide the client, to explore and understand the deeper structure of the problem and the benefits that change has to offer.
The treatment of other conditions may incorporate components of the triple therapy or alternative methods, such as Cognitive or Solution Focused Therapy. The treatment sessions may occasionally, if required, include Hypnotherapy.
